Handsome map of the Leeward and Windward Islands between Puerto Rico and South America. North is oriented to the left as indicated by the compass roses. All of the major islands are named, as are several very tiny ones. The ornate title cartouche includes sea god Nereus and two of his daughters. The map is further embellished with a native Carib holding the scale of miles, a sea monster and several sailing ships. Blank on verso.

A nice impression with fine, original color and light toning. There are a few small abrasions around Barbuda and around the ship in the top right corner.
