Merian's Topographia Galliae… was the most comprehensive illustrated guide to France's cities, towns, and buildings in the 17th century. These three engravings depict bird's-eye views of the fortifications at Chalons-Sur-Saone, Doullens and La Fere. Size varies slightly.
A. Chalons Sur Soane. In Burgundy in eastern France. Condition: (A)
B. Doullans. In Picardie in northern France. Condition: Watermarked paper with light printer's ink residue and a damp stain that enters neatline at bottom. Condition: (B+)
C. La Fere. In Picardie in northern France. Condition: A couple of unobtrusive spots, with light toning and damp stains confined to blank margins. Condition: (B+)
