An early map of Switzerland with north oriented at the bottom of the chart. The map was based on the work of Aegidius Tschudi, a historian of the Swiss Confederation. The title is engraved onto the top of an unusual three dimensional title box. Dutch text on verso. Published in the first Dutch edition in 1573.

Condition: A

Original color on watermarked paper with wide, original margins. There are damp stains in blank margins, far from map. There is paper weakness in bottom corners caused by the water damage, also not affecting map.
