This interesting paleontologic view was produced by K.A. von Zittel and Karl Haushofer. The scene shows primitive tapir-like tusked mammals in a tropical swamp environment surrounded by palm trees and mountains in the background. The Oligocene epoch of the Tertiary period was approximately 40 million years ago. Printed on four joined sheets, backed with linen, and mounted on rollers.

Condition: B+

There is a damp stain at upper right, a few minor chips in blank areas at top, and a few cracks at center next to where the sheets join. Rollers are present, fully attached, and in very good condition.
