This navigational chart is filled with soundings around Canso Harbor in northeast Nova Scotia. There are navigational notes scattered throughout, as well as a note on Andrew Island indicating that the island is "low, boggy, and barren, with groves of stunted Spruce." Various coves, passages, creeks, and channels are named, but there is no inland detail with the exception of the topography along the coastlines. The information on the map was gathered from a survey by Captain H. W. Bayfield, R.N. in 1850. Engraved by J. & C. Walker.
