These 48 strip maps published by the Automobile Club of Southern California cover the driving route from Los Angeles to Chicago via "National Old Trails Road and its principle tributaries." Each map contains a legend identifying meals, lodgings, gasoline, garages, and club signs for that portion of the route. Most of the maps include a description of the road conditions for that area, such as "good dirt road, sand in places" or "good road - bad in wet weather," located outside of the map at top right.
