A handsome bird's-eye plan of Paris and the surrounding countryside. A numbered key at bottom right identifies over 100 locations on the map. An inset at bottom left depicts the region surrounding Paris with numerous towns named. The composition is nicely balanced by the coats of arms of France and Paris and an elaborate drape-style cartouche held aloft by putti dedicating the plan to Simon Arnauld de Pomponne, a French diplomat and minister under Louis XIV.
