This lovely bird's-eye plan of the town of Geldern, located in North Rhine-Westphalia, is copied from Braun & Hogenberg's town plan. A castle appears on two small islands in the middle of the Niers River, which is believed to be the origin of the town. The church of St. Maria Magdalena, built in the 14th century, is prominently shown in the market square within the town center. Geldern's coat of arms, emblazoned with a dragon, appears at top left.
