This dramatic print shows the sinking of the British passenger liner Titanic after it struck an iceberg on April 15, 1912 in the North Atlantic Ocean. The ship was on its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York City, and was at the time the largest steamer in the world. The print features lifeboats filled with passengers in the foreground, with the sinking ship and iceberg behind them, and a portrait of Captain Edward Smith in the top left corner. Statistics under title provide the length, breath, cost, registered tonnage, and tonnage displacement of the ship, as well as the number of steel decks, watertight bulkheads, passengers accommodated, and crew. Published in New York by H. Ginsberg.
