A nice lot of three covering South America's eastern coast from just above Georgetown, Guyana to present-day Uruguay. The first two maps primarily show coastal detail with the interior region noted as being unknown and the domain of the Tapuyas Indian nation. The second map includes the Amazon River and extends south to the Bay of All Saints in Salvador, while the third map shows the coast from just below Sao Paulo to the mouth of the Rio de la Plata, and provides more information on the interior. All maps are adorned with a decorative title cartouche featuring scroll, flower, and leaf motifs.
