Very attractive scene of Venice depicted from the sea. In the foreground are numerous ships intermingled with row boats in the Gulf of Venice. In the background, the steeples of Venice punctuate the sky. The title floats on a simple banner high above the city. This is the second state of the map, published in the German edition of Description de l'Univers, with German text above the map.
