Dutch Bible map of the Holy Land depicting the Exodus from Egypt and the wanderings of the Children of Israel. The lower part of the map is elaborately engraved with a scene of the encampment of the Children of Israel and Moses receiving the Ten Commandments at Mt. Sinai, and Adam and Eve flank the title cartouche. A convoy of ships bringing cedar for the building of Solomon's Temple and Jonas and the whale further decorate the map. The map is based on that of Nicolaes Berchem, whose popular designs were copied for many Dutch bibles in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Dutch text on verso.
