Excellent folding map of the Philippine Islands that shows the islands and harbors in fine detail with topography rendered in hachure. The map depicts Mindoro and Mindoro Strait, Panay, Manila and Manila Bay, Mindanao, Leyte, Samar, Luzon, and the Sulu Sea, in addition to numerous smaller islands. Two inset maps, titled Manila Province and Vicinity. Showing Seat of War and Lower Part of Mindanao are included. The map has an interesting history, as it was printed for Harper & Googin, a coal and wood company located in Lewiston, Maine, who had it folded into a pocket map for use as a promotional piece to distribute to their clients. Harper & Googin imported special Asian wood products from the Philippines.
