Attractive small map in double hemispheres showing a very large polar landmass in North America jutting out into the North Pacific and creating a wide Northwest Passage. The M. de l'Ouest is connected to this passage, thereby creating an odd island of part of the coast. The east coast of Australia is still conjectural and is depicted joined to New Guinea in the north and Tasmania in the south. The map is adorned with a very decorative title cartouche with leaves, flowers and scrolls.
