This beautifully engraved map of Africa extends to include the Atlantic islands and just a bit of Brazil. The Nile river is depicted originating in two large lakes south of the equator named Zaire Lacus and Zaflan. Crisply engraved with a compass rose and a title cartouche featuring an African sitting in a stone structure with a pair of scorpions and ivory at his feet, a lion, and elephants.
