This small map of North America was engraved by Samuel Neele for Evan's Geographical Grammar. The United States is shown confined to east of the Mississippi River while the west is under Spanish control. Indian tribes, rivers and a few place names are located including Quivira and Santa Fe. A note to the east of the Rocky Mountains indicates that "the sources these rivers are unknown" and to the west the land is labeled "Unexplored Country."
