This strongly engraved map includes all of Scotland, the Orkney Islands and the New Hebrides, here called the Westerne Iles of Scotland. The map is filled with minute detail and hundreds of place names. The cartouches are richly embellished with Mercury, coats of arms, and putti.

Condition: B

Lovely original color that has been partially refreshed and light toning along centerfold. There are damp stains that enter about 2" into map at top and bottom. Remargined at top and bottom with a very minor amount of neatline replaced in facsimile.
