This is a handsome map of the Bearn region of southwest France with the mountains of the Pyrenees graphically illustrated. The major cities are prominently depicted including Bayonne, Orthez, Pau and Oloron. The map is adorned with a strapwork title cartouche and a distance scale featuring figures wearing traditional costumes. Engraved by Everard (Evert) Symonsz van Hamersfeldt, who also worked for Hondius, Blaeu and le Clerc. French text on verso.
