This delightful double hemisphere celestial chart depicts the ecliptic pole to ecliptic, joined through the winter solstice. Based on the Hondius model, it shows only the brightest stars in their allegorical constellations with the figure view from the rear. A pair of putti hold the title cartouche at top and an eagle holds a banner at bottom with the Latin quotation Coeli Enarrant Gloriam Dei - the heavens declare the glory of God.

A fine impression on watermarked paper with attractive color. There is light soiling and an abrasion in title cartouche with part of title expertly replaced in facsimile. Margins have been extended to accommodate framing.
