This charming engraving by William Ward is based on the painting by William Redmore Bigg, a popular artist in his time best known for his paintings of children. The scene depicts two young mischief-makers being scolded by their ailing father in his study while two curious younger boys spy from the safety of the doorway. Two globes sit in an alcove in the background.
