A nicely engraved copper plate map of this Italian island at the edge of the Gulf of Naples. The map is oriented with north to the bottom, and towns are depicted as tiny castles. The Romans were the first to discover the healing effects of the island's hot springs, which are still in use today. Adorned with a decorative strapwork cartouche. French text on verso.
