This interesting, small map is focused on the Mississippi River Valley and extends to Michigan and the northern Plains. The colonies of Florida and Carolina are shown on the right. The map includes a portion of the Gulf Coast, with New Orleans located and a town of Teijas named in preset-day Texas. A note nearby records the presence of the French explorer La Salle in 1685, just a couple of years before his murder at the hands of a mutinous follower in 1687.
