A handsome map of Saint Helena Island in the south Atlantic Ocean. The mountainous topography is depicted, along with a forested area and one dwelling. The map is handsomely embellished with a sea monster, ship, and an ominous title cartouche. The majority of the maps for Bertius' geographical treatise were engraved by Jodocus Hondius Jr. after Mercator. French text on verso.
