This very rare map depicts the ancient world in a conical projection, based on Ptolemy. The map is attributed to a cartographer from Alexandria named Agathodaemon, who designed a number of maps to accompany Ptolemy's Geographia, and is believed to have lived in the 5th century AD. The map was published in Briet's geographical history, containing both ancient and modern maps.
