Lovely small map that illustrates the region from the Yucatan to the Gulf of Panama. It is nicely detailed, although much of the topography is still incorrect. Lago de Nicaragua has an east-west orientation. It was reduced from Sanson's folio map of 1662 and retains the same level of detail. Although his imprint does not appear on this map, this map was re-engraved by Antoine d'Winter.

Issued folding, with attractive color on watermarked paper, very light offsetting, and a few faint spots of foxing.
