This very uncommon, if not rare, map of the Western Hemisphere appears to be separately issued. It was published in Vienna by Tranquillo Motta. The publication date is uncertain but "Ft. Miamis" (Ft. Miami) is noted in the Ohio area which was built by the British in 1794 and abandoned by the Americans in 1799, thus dating the map sometime after 1794. The primary purpose of the map is to depict the routes of Cook's three voyages. "Taxas" is noted as well as "Neu Seeland", which has a fully defined coastline. Includes insets of Hispaniola and Martinique (the relevance is unclear to the cataloger). Decorated by a title cartouche of the sun breaking out from the clouds and 10 different distance scales.
