This detailed map shows the southern part of India and Sri Lanka, including political divisions, towns and cities, mountains, and rivers. The map illustrates the period when the British controlled nearly all of India south of the Sutlej River and had reduced to vassalage their most powerful Indian enemies, the state of Mysore and the Marathas. It shows these regions as well as those ceded in 1792 and 1799.
