This uncommon promotional map of Iowa extends from Chicago west to Sioux City and Omaha and shows the lines of the Iowa Falls/Sioux City Railroad as well as the Cedar Rapids/Missouri River railroads. It depicts the large tracks of land available for sale along the rail lines, which was available for purchase from $3 to $10 per acre. Text below the map describes the desirability of the land for sale, covering soil quality, climate, and production possibilities. A note directly below the map even promises to reimburse land purchasers their rail ticket! Published by W.W. Walker with base map provided by the Colton firm.
