Terrific copper engraving with a large and detailed armillary sphere at center and with various planetary system theories around. It includes the planetary systems of Copernicus, Tycho Brahe, Ptolemy, and the Systeme actuel (current system). There are also views of the moon and sun that explain the phases of the moon, eclipses of the moon and the sun, a diagram explaining the seasons, and a compass rose. Finely engraved by Tardieu.

A dark impression with faint scattered foxing primarily confined to the blank margins, and a small abrasion near the diagram explaining the seasons, with an insignificant amount of loss to the image. There is toning along the sheet's edges.
