Large map of the southern part of India and Sri Lanka. The map is filled with detail of topography, roads and cities. Colonial possessions and trading posts are represented by little flags along the coastline. The title is emblazoned onto a blanket draped over a large elephant that is surrounded by people displaying the wealth of the region.

References:

Condition: B+

Watermarked paper with original color in the map and later color in the cartouche. There is a printer's crease at top right and a pencil notation adjacent to title cartouche. Light toning and creasing along edges of sheet.
