This small map of the United States depicts gold and silver deposits in red and blue hand coloring. While most of the deposits are concentrated in the west, the map identifies pockets of gold in the Appalachian Mountains. In addition to the mineral information, the map is delineated by state and territory and names and locates numerous Indian tribes. The text in the top margin indicates that this map was published in the November 1867 issue of Bulletin de la Societe de Geographie.
