The region to the north of Arkansas Territory is the state of Missouri and Missouri Territory, which contains the names of numerous Indian tribes. Northwest Territory occupies the arrowhead of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the upper peninsula of Michigan. An inset at bottom shows the southern portion of Florida on the same scale as the main map.
