A. Indiana, by J.H. Colton & Co., from Colton's Atlas of the World..., dated 1855 (12.9 x 15.9"). This detailed county map of the state features railroads, canals, roads, cities, and villages. The county configuration is contemporary, with the recently shifted Warrick and Spencer border represented. Colton's signature strapwork border surrounds the map. Condition: Clean and bright with light toning along the edges of the sheet and a few tiny edge tears confined to the blank margins. (A)

B. Johnson's Indiana, by Johnson and Ward, dated 1864 (17.0 x 23.2"). This double-page map is filled with information including railroads, villages and towns, wagon roads, watershed, and more. The straight border between Putnam and Morgan counties indicate that the county configuration pre-dates 1861, despite the 1864 copyright date. Includes decorative scroll-style borders. Condition: There is faint soiling, minor show-through of text on verso, and a tiny centerfold separation in the right blank margin. The sheet is lightly toned along its edges. (B+)
