This very colorful map of New Mexico is drawn in the style of Jo Mora and covers the region from Taos and Shiprock south to Carlsbad and El Paso. Early explorer routes are shown including those of Coronado, Espejo and Onate as well as numerous old trails including the Santa Fe, Butterfield and Comanche. The map is richly embellished with illustrations including a cattle drive, wagon train, Spanish soldiers and various wildlife. The verso contains text about the Coronado Cuarto Centennial celebration and various trails. The map was produced by Wilfred Stedman on behalf of the New Mexico State Tourist Bureau for the 400th anniversary of Coronado’s explorations.
