This unusual French map covers the western United States and Mexico. Mexico is in control of the southwest and Texas, which is not named here. Monterey, Santa Barbara and San Diego are identified along the California coast, while the Great Basin region is virtually blank. The map shows numerous place names along with the location of Indian tribes. Engraved by Pierre Tardieu.
