This handsome chart is a close copy of the landmark Jocobsz/Goos chart of the northern regions. It covers the area from the Faeroe Islands north of Scotland to Baffin Island where a note in Dutch states, "Here is fresh fish, dead whales, white foxes and fresh salmon." The map is beautifully ornamented with a large title cartouche flanked by whalers and a distance scale cartouche surrounded by a siren family. It is also adorned with ships, a sea monster, compass roses, and rhumb lines.

A crisp impression with light scattered foxing, a couple small stains, and a faint extraneous crease to the right of the centerfold. Remnants of hinge tape on verso. The blue shadow along the centerfold in the image is a result of the scanning process and is not present on the actual map.
