This lot of copper engraved, Ogilby-style strip road maps includes coats-of-arms and descriptive text by John Owen. The first, pages 161 and 162 from The Road from Carlisle to Barwick..., features roads around the Anglo-Scottish border. The second is pages 165 and 166 from the series The Road from Chester to Cardiff... // A Map of Brecknockshire and covers the road from Montgomeryshire to Brecknockshire in Wales. The third sheet consists of pages 173 and 174 from the series The Road from St. Davids to Holywell... // Pembrokeshire and spans from Cardiganshire to Merionethshire. The last sheet, pages 177 and 178 from The Road from Exeter to Barnstable, Continued to Ilfarcomb..., tracks the road through the county of Devon in southwest England. Size varies slightly.

B. [The Road from Chester to Cardiff... // A Map of Brecknockshire]. Condition: A dark impression with light toning along sheet edges. There are small chips along the left edge of the sheet. (B+)
C. [The Road from St. Davids to Holywell... // Pembrokeshire]. Condition: Moderate toning with a few small spots along the bottom left neatline on recto. (B)
D. [The Road from Exeter to Barnstable, Continued to Ilfarcomb...]. Condition: Moderate toning primarily along sheet edges. (B)
