This is the first edition of Mercator's map of Greece and the Aegean Sea. The map spans north to Albania, Macedonia and the Dardanelles. The sea is fully engraved with calligraphy in Mercator's characteristic style. The map is embellished with a small strapwork title cartouche and a decorative distance scale. French text on verso, published between 1628-33.

Wide margins with one tiny worm hole in the image and some paper weakness along the edges of the sheet.
