This charming miniature map of the island of Rhodes is oriented with north to the right. A handful of towns are identified, including Soroni, Kamiros, and Lindos. The important port of Rhodes is depicted as a large bay along the northeastern shore, surrounded by buildings and windmills. Adorned with a strapwork cartouche, measuring dividers, a sea monster, and a sailing ship. The majority of the maps for Bertius' geographical treatise were engraved by Jodocus Hondius Jr. after Mercator. French text on verso.
