This is a superb copper engraving of the Elizabethan Tower of London and fortifications forming the ancient domain of the Crown that had jurisdiction and privileges independent from the City of London. The plan is a copy of William Hayward and John Gascoyne's survey of 1597. Published in London for the Society of Antiquaries.

A nice impression on watermarked paper with very wide margins and attractive color. There are several printer's creases at left, and extraneous crease confined to left blank margin.
