This is one of the most dramatically adorned maps of Ireland ever produced. A tableau of mythological figures enhance the two classical cartouches and the seas feature sailing ships, naval battles and sea monsters. The map is filled with detail of the topography, cities, fortifications, roads and trails. Original prepared by Carel Allard circa 1690, this is the Covens & Mortier edition.

A clean and bright example with full original color. Issued folding with a binding trim at bottom left and a short fold separation in left blank margin that has been closed on verso with archival tape.
