A handsome map of the modern Netherlands, fully engraved with towns, political boundaries, mountains, marshes, and the extensive river system in the region. The North Sea is filled with scenes of ships engaged in battle, with several already sinking. The elaborate title cartouche is surrounded by mythical figures, including Mercury, river gods, and a lion to represent the Dutch Republic. Alternate Latin title above the map: Belgium Foederatum, ad Usum Serenissimi Burgundiae Ducis.
