Handsome map of the Persian Empire during the time of the Safavid dynasty. It covers the region from the Caucasus to India, with the Persian Gulf coastline of the Arabian peninsula. Good detail includes rivers and hundreds of tiny villages. Beautifully decorated with a sailing ship, a fine title cartouche featuring a Persian ruler and two warriors, and a local surveyor beside the scale of miles. Spanish text on verso, published between 1653-66.

A nice impression with attractive color on a sturdy sheet with wide margins. There is a professionally repaired centerfold separation that just enters neatline at bottom and marginal soiling.
