This very large, working blue-back chart depicts the northern Pacific Ocean from the coastline of the Americas to the eastern coast of Asia, stretching south to the Philippines. Includes 40 inset maps of important bay entrances and islands including a very large depiction of the Hawaiian Islands and Honolulu. The map is filled with important nautical information including sailing routes, compasses, soundings, shoals and anchorages. Published by Imray & Son in London, who stamped it 1881 near the title in black ink. This firm exists today as Imray, Laurie, Norie & Wilson Ltd, still specializing in nautical charts. Printed on three sheets and joined.

Overall very good for this type of chart with light soiling and pencil notations in the ocean off the coast of North America. One short edge tear at left is confined to the blank margin.
