Superbly designed and very scarce set of four Florentine maps of the United States. They are a matched set and meant to be joined with the title cartouche on the southeastern sheet. Shows East and West Florida, and an oversized Mississippi Territory that extends from Georgia to the Mississippi River. Indiana is shown below Lake Michigan and elongated to the southwest to the Mississippi River. Fine and early details in the Missouri River Valley, the Upper Plains, Texas, and to the Rocky Mountains. Many place names including Indian Tribes, lakes, rivers, mountains, settlements etc. Locates L. Timpanagos and L. Salso south of Timpanagos. The southwestern sheet includes an inset of the Pacific Northwest.
