This map shows the central Alps in northern Italy, eastern Switzerland, and western Austria. The map is bounded by Lake Como and Lake Garda in the south, Lake Constance in the northwest, and Saltzburg in the northeast. Hundreds of towns are depicted, along with political boundaries, rivers, and the mountainous topography. The map is adorned with a decorative distance scale and a title cartouche in the form of a natural bridge over a river.
