This densely engraved map focuses on the regions surrounding the western Alps along the border between France and Italy. The map extends north to Lake Leman and Geneva, south to Nice, west to Grenoble, and east to Casale. Towns of various sizes, roads, political boundaries, and the mountainous terrain are well depicted. Twenty-two coats of arms from the region flank the map. The elaborate title cartouche features trumpeting angels and a river god and goddess. Alternate Latin title above the map: Status Sabaudiae Ducis Accuratissime Divisi, ad usum Serenissimi Burgundiae Ducis.
