This very rare, printed cloth campaign handkerchief was produced for the 1884 Republican ticket of James Blaine and John Logan (who narrowly lost to Democratic candidates Grover Cleveland & Thomas Hendricks). The two oval frames are separated by a furled American flag and embellished with flora along the border. At top is an American eagle with an "E Pluribus Unum" ribbon held in its beak. Beneath the portraits are their names, the positions they seek, and the state that they represent. A wonderfully graphic campaign image.
