This book, with 100 beautifully reproduced colored maps, is a continuation of the effort by the Royal Geographical Society to reproduce important cartographic items for wide public access. Each map is accompanied by an extensive caption written by Goss. A treasure trove of information and illustrations. 224 pages, folio, hardbound in blue cloth with gilt spine and illustrated dust jacket.

Contents near fine with tiny, unobtrusive stains at the top of some of the pages near the book's middle. Covers near fine with minor soiling. There is light wear on the dust jacket.
