This map of the city is delineated by ward and depicts the street grid pattern and several important buildings including the "new capitol." Concentric circles radiate from the city center at quarter mile intervals, and a table at lower left identifies fire alarm boxes throughout the city. The map emphasizes the transportation network in and around the city, locating the New York Central Railroad, Susquehanna & Albany Railroad, and the Erie Canal.

Issued folding and now flattened and backed with tissue to reinforce and repair a 1.75" binding tear at left and a few tiny splits at fold intersections.
